We hope that you are all healthy and well during this unprecedented time in American history. As you may have already heard, Governor Dewine has stated that dentistry will be “full steam ahead” as of May 1. While we are encouraged to hear this, there has been very little guidance from dental associations and governing bodies at local, state and national levels on what precautions need to be taken to re-open.
We will continue to monitor these organizations for guidelines on best practices, and will implement them as soon as we are able. You should know, though, that there continues to be a personal protective equipment (PPE) shortage, and many of the items that we have been using for decades are now in short supply or even back-ordered.
Please also know that we will not be going back to “business as usual” right away—and maybe never. Our top priority continues to be the health of our amazing team and patients. There are several protocols that we will be instituting. These will take time and patience, so please bear with us.
Some of the extra steps that we are taking to help keep you safe:
Please keep in mind that all of these steps are in addition to the already-stringent infection-control guidelines that have been in place in dentistry for decades. We have always kept your overall health at the front of our minds, and we will continue to do so.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly. My email address is email@example.com, and I will gladly answer any questions you might have. In these uncertain times, I hope that we can be one step closer to normal for you all, in the safest way possible.
Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon!
